Dr. Chen's research direction deeply integrates marine technology with cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence, computer vision, and intelligent sensing. His research topics include ocean intelligent sensing based on radar and optical sensors, sea ice remote sensing based on multimodal data, as well as intelligent recognition and detection of small objects at sea. Over the past five years he has published more than 40 papers in top journals (e.g., IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, The International Journal of Applied Earth Observation and Geoinformation) and flagship international conferences (e.g., MTS/IEEE Oceans, IGARSS). He also serves as the guest editor and reviewers of various top journals. Dr. Chen is also a member of IEEE and IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society.
