Personal Profile

Liang Lingyu is an associate professor and master's supervisor at South China University of Technology. The current main research directions are computer vision and machine learning. In 2016, I visited the laboratory of Professor Jia Jiaya (IEEE Fellow, former Tencent Distinguished Scientist) in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong as an honorary postdoctoral researcher for a one-year academic visit. Nearly 30 SCI/ EI-indexed papers have been published, among which papers have been published as the first or corresponding author in top international journals such as TCYB, TMM, TAFFC, TCSVT, PR, as well as in top international conferences such as NeurIPS. A number of patents have been authorized and made public. He has successively presided over more than ten projects including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province, the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence - Huawei MindSpore Academic Award Fund, and the SenseTime Youth Research Fund. He has also participated in multiple national and provincial-level projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China General Project and the National Science and Technology Support Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology. Invited to give academic reports at multiple international conferences such as NeurIPS, CVPR, Pacific Graphics, ICASSP, and ICIP. Served as a reviewer for multiple international and domestic journals and conferences such as IEEE TMM, IEEE TAFFC, IEEE TSMC-Systems, IEEE CGA, CGF, and Neurocomputing; As a field expert, I was selected into the expert database for high-level talent review in Guangdong Province.

In terms of teaching, I have been the main lecturer for postgraduate courses such as 'Deep Learning' and 'Machine Learning', and participated in the interdisciplinary postgraduate course 'Frontiers of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Design'. Taught the undergraduate course 'Data Structure' and the micro-professional course 'Deep Learning' in artificial intelligence. Won the second prize of the Guangdong Provincial Education Teaching Achievement Award and the Special Prize of the School-level Education Achievement Award. Guided students to participate in competitions and win multiple awards, such as the Gold Award in the finals of the 'Internet Plus' industry track and the Special Prize in the provincial 'Challenge Cup' competition. Received the nomination Award for the 'Moral Education and Talent Cultivation Award' of the School of Telecommunications in 2018, the Excellent Instructor Award of the 18th Asian Design Academic Year Award in 2020, and the title of Huawei Cloud and Computing Pioneer Teacher for 'Intelligent Base' in 2021. Support undergraduate and postgraduate students to intern at well-known enterprises, such as Huawei, Alibaba, iFLYTEK, SenseTime, Tencent, Hikvision, etc.
