Personal Profile
Guo Lihua, Associate Professor at South China University of Technology, was born in Yongxin County, Jiangxi Province in February 1978. He received his Bachelor's degree in Multimedia Communications and Master's degree in Multimedia Communications from the Department of Information Engineering, Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications in 1999 and 2002 respectively. He obtained his Ph.D. in Communication and Information Systems from the School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University in July 2005. He is currently serving as Associate Professor at South China University of Technology, Secretary-General of Guangdong Provincial Engineering Research Center for Intelligent Processing of Audio-Video, Text and Graphics, and Deputy Secretary-General of Guangdong Society for Image and Graphics.
In 2012, he was awarded the First Prize of Guangdong Science and Technology Award (Core Technologies of Handwriting Human-Computer Interaction and Cloud Computing) as a leading technical contributor. He was a visiting scholar at Griffith University, Australia in 2016, at Technische Universität Dresden, Germany in 2017, and at Southern Illinois University (SIU), USA in 2020. In recent years, he has led research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province, and the Doctoral Fund of the Ministry of Education, and participated in multiple scientific research programs supported by the International Cooperation Projects of the Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province.
