Personal Profile

Xing Xiaofen is a Master's Supervisor and a key participant (2019-2022) in a National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Key Program under the Joint Fund (focused on brain-inspired affective computing). In recent years, she has concentrated her research on deep learning-based cross-media affective computing, covering image, facial expression, speech, natural language understanding and dialogue, as well as 3D virtual avatar interaction. She has led one NSFC Youth Project and participated in three provincial-level science and technology programs, including the Guangdong Key R&D Program in Artificial Intelligence. She has established close collaborations with leading AI enterprises and unicorn companies, and played a core role in establishing one university-industry joint laboratory.

  She has published more than 20 papers in prestigious journals and conferences in the field of artificial intelligence. Her work received a Best Paper Nomination at the renowned image processing conference ICIP and was selected twice for oral presentation at the authoritative affective computing challenge co-located with ACM International Conference on Multimedia (ACM MM). She is also the author of two textbooks.
