From October 31 to November 2, 2025, IEEEPES ISGT Asia 2025—a flagship international conferencein the power and energy sector—concluded successfullyin Guangzhou, China. Hosted by the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) andco-organized by South China University of Technology (SCUT), IEEE PES GuangzhouChapter, and IEEE PES DC Power System Technical Committee (China), thisacademic gala, themed Synergizing Digital and Intelligent Forces toEmpower Power System Innovation and Practice, attracted top globalscholars, industry leaders, and technical experts to gather in the FlowerCity (Guangzhou) for high-level, forward-looking intellectual exchangesand in-depth dialogues.

At the conference opening ceremony, alineup of distinguished guests delivered enthusiastic speeches. Zou Hao, Memberof the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Director of the PublicityDepartment of SCUT, delivered a welcome address on behalf of the co-hostuniversity, extending sincere greetings to all participants. Zhong Zhiyong,President-Elect of IEEE PES, Chair Professor of The Hong Kong PolytechnicUniversity, and Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, spoke from aninternational perspective and affirmed the conference’svital role in promoting global cooperation in power and energy technology. XuShukai, Chair of IEEE PES Guangzhou Chapter, emphasized the key role ofindustry-academia-research collaboration in energy transition from theperspective of local industrial development. The subsequent keynote speechsession was chaired by Professor Tang Wenhu, Dean of the School of ElectricPower Engineering at SCUT, where six top experts from home and abroad took thestage one after another, presenting a splendid academic feast.
