Professors Zhu Jizhong and Liu Mingbo recognized by the International Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)

Time:2023-02-22

Recently, Professor Zhu Jizhong and Professor Liu Mingbo of Electric Power Engineering College received the IEEE International Standards Contribution Award medal and certificate from the International Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) mailed from the United States. The IEEE Standards Institute recognizes their positive and important contributions to the publication of the IEEE International Standard for IEEE P2781 Guide for Load Modeling and Simulations for Power SystemsIEEE is a leading standard setting organization in the world, and the IEEE International Standards Contribution Award is established by the IEEE Standards Institute to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions during the IEEE standard release process.

The IEEE P2781 standard is a new load modeling method developed in the context of the rapid development of Internet of Things technology to adapt to the operation and planning of new power systems. Unlike traditional methods, this standard utilizes big data analysis and artificial intelligence methods to model the load of electricity meters in detail through data obtained from IoT sensors without the need for customer surveys. The IEEE International Standard for Load Modeling and Simulations for Power Systems was officially published on September 30, 2022.
