Teaching Area
Prof.Liao has been working on the field of teaching and scientific research on Thermal Physics Engineering and Power station system for a long time. As the major teacher of Heat Transfer, Engineering Combustion, Introduction to Nuclear Engineering and Technology, Computer Analysis of Thermal Process and English in Thermal Physics Engineering, Prof.Liao attaches importance to the relation between theory and reality, meanwhile actively cultivates innovative thinking and initiative in students. Because of the brilliant teaching method and pleasant learning results of students, Prof.Liao has been awarded the second prize of teaching accomplishments in SCUT more than once.
Research Interests
Efficient and Clean Energy Utilization, Development of comprehensive treatment and utilization technology of biomass resources,Treatment and utilization of municipal solid waste ,Power plant system optimization and economic dispatch, Fire evolution and Prevention, Nonlinear phenomena in combustion process.
The Main Achievements
·Study of biomass alkali coking and high temperature heating surface corrosion. Prof. Liao put forward and the immobilization mechanism of alkali metal coordination environment based on biomass low temperature controlled combustion.
·Based on the characteristics of municipal solid waste incineration and pollutant emission, Prof.Liao established of combustible solid waste combustion characteristic database and put forward combustible solid waste disposal mechanism.
·In view of the nonlinear combustion characteristics of fire and smoke in the process of building fire, the fire resistance performance of the building element under the thermal mechanical coupling was studied, and the intelligent early warning system of the building fire was developed.
·Based on the technology of artificial intelligence, the optimization of the combustion technology of multi - coal in large coal- fired boiler is formed.
·The intelligent calculation method of the feasible range of the large scale combined heat and power which means “The Heat determines power generation” was established.
