Introduction:
Yang Ping, female, was born in January 1967, Professor and PhD mentor. She is one of associate editors of “Control Theory & Applications” and director of Guangdong Key Lab of Green Energy Technology (CET Lab). She graduated from Department of Radio Technology, South China University of Technology (SCUT), and got her bachelor degree in 1988. After graduation, she worked at the Guangzhou Railway Bureau for three years, during which she was responsible for a project of designing, installing and testing a more-than-6000-users cable television system. In addition, she designed the communication cable management system in Dongshan District, Guangzhou. In 1994, she got her M. E. degree in School of Electrical Engineering, SCUT. In 1998, she got her PhD degree in School of Electric Power, SCUT. While running for PhD degree, She was concentrated on two researches named “Modeling and Control of Large-Scale Complex Systems” and “Fault Diagnosis of Large-Scale Complex Systems”. She has been working as a teacher in SCUT since 1998. In 2000, she went to City University of Hong Kong (CityU) as a visiting scholar for one year, during which she cooperated with a well-known professor Cao Jie on intelligent control theory and its applications.
She is a chief lecturer of Automatic Control Theory, Digital Control System, Modern Control Technology, Intelligent Buildings, Mechanical and Electrical Equipment Fault Diagnosis, etc. Her current research interests include modeling and control of power electronic circuits, analysis, modeling and control of large-scale complex systems, intelligent control theory and its applications, optimization of renewable energy utilitization, energy-saving technology of traditional energy, etc.
She has been in charge of a number of national or provincial research projects, including: the Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province: Varying-Weight Model of Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation and Its Applications, Extended Membership Function and its Applications; Natural Science Foundation Team Project of Guangdong Province: “Research on the Control System in the Comprehensive Exploitation of Renewable Energy; Industrial Research Project of Guangdong Province: Integrated Research on Controller of the Phase Sequence for 3 Phases AC Power Source, Automate and Remote Control of Intelligent Combined Substation Based on GPRS Technology, Matrix Converter Development for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Power Generation; Social Development Projects in Guangdong Province: Dynamic Studies on Wind-Photovoltaic Hybrid Power Systems. She participated in the following projects: the National Natural Science Foundation of China: ”Distributed Wind-Solar Power System Hybrid Control Research; the National 973 Subtopic: Bifurcation and Structural Stability of Power System Research; Industrial Research in Guangdong Province: Distributed Wind-Solar Hybrid Power System. She also finished a number of enterprise delegated projects. All the projects above have achieved nice results and is highly evaluated from the relevant companies. For example, CMCC delegated projects Intelligent Mobile Network Traffic Forecast System has been widely used in several branches of CMCC Guangdong Company.
In the past five years, her research funding is more than 2 million RMB. Based on quantities of scientific research work, she has published over 40 articles on the high-level research papers, of which more than 20 papers was included by the three major indexes. She is the editor of a textbook and one of the editors of another textbook.
Besides course teaching, she gave comprehensive lectures to undergraduates from different aspects, tring to make undergraduates interested in their major, inspire their imaginations and guide their occupation attitude. Besides a number of research projects, she paid more attention to graduates education, making great efforts to provide her graduates with an education platform, on which they have chance to finish the construction of theoretical foundation, technical skills training, integrated quality training and systematical career planning. Youths who are aspiring to get achievement in the field of electricity are especially welcome.
