Experts at the conference agreed that the major national strategies put forward urgent requirements for researchers in UWA communications and exploration. We should work together to change the current research status of UWA communications and exploration and promote the scientific development in the field.

The conference was hosted by the Research Team of Underwater Acoustic Communication and Exploration of our university. This team, led by Professor Ji Fei, has 10 faculty members including 4 professors, 4 associate professors and 2 lecturers, among whom 1 is the National Outstanding Youth Fund winner and 3 are the Pearl River Nova Program winners. Besides, there are more than 60 doctoral students and master students. Team members have conducted or participated in the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Guangdong Provincial Natural Science Foundation, 973, 863 projects, etc. The team has published more than 70 high-quality papers in UWA communications and related applications and has held more than 60 patents.
