1. Introduction to the University
The South China University of Technology (SCUT) is a leading higher education institution in China. The university encompasses three campuses: Wushan Campus, University Town Campus, and Guangzhou International Campus. SCUT has a long history dating back to 1918. Formally founded in 1952, SCUT was one of the four major universities of technology in the new China. In 1960, it became a National Key University. In 1995, SCUT was listed in China's Project 211, a national endeavor aiming at strengthening top institutions of higher education as a priority for the 21st century. In 2001, SCUT was listed in the Project 985, which at the time was the country's most significant education project for funding world-class universities. SCUT’s overall disciplinary level, comprising light industry technology and engineering, architecture, food science and engineering, chemical engineering and technology, environmental science and engineering, materials science and engineering, mechanical engineering, and management science and engineering, ranks in the top 10% nationwide. In addition, According to Clarivate Analytics's Essential Science Indicators, SCUT has 10 subject areas ranked within the global top 1%, among which 5 subjects are global top 1‰ encompassing engineering, materials science, chemistry, agricultural science, and computer science. 2. Introduction to the Department
The Department of Electronic Business at SCUT is situated in the University Town Campus. The Department of Electronic Business comprises a faculty team of 45 members, consisting of 33 full-time teachers, including 11 professors, 12 doctoral supervisors, 15 associate professors, and 26 master’s supervisors, along with 1 postdoctoral researcher, as well as 12 administrative and laboratory management personnel. All full-time teachers possess doctoral degrees from prestigious domestic or international institutions. Moreover, the majority of them have acquired experience studying or conducting research abroad.
The Department of Electronic Business offers a comprehensive talent-training system that spans from undergraduate to doctoral levels, incorporating a post-doctoral research station in Management Science and Engineering. Currently, the department is developing two specialty directions, Electronic Business and Logistics Management, under the authorization of the first-level discipline for doctoral degrees in Management Science and Engineering. There are two M.Sc programs in Electronic Business and Logistics Engineering, one M.Eng program in Logistics Engineering and Management, as well as a non-full time master program in Digital Commerce and Smart Supply Chain (Master of Engineering Management, MEM). The department provides three undergraduate programs, including Electronic Business (Bachelor of Management), Logistics Engineering (Bachelor of Engineering), and Big Data Management and Applications (Bachelor of Management), where the first two are designated as national first-class undergraduate programs.
In the fourth national discipline assessment, Management Science and Engineering received an A- grade, placing it in the top 5%-10% nationwide. The 2022 Chinese Universities Subjects Ranking provided by the Shanghai Ranking Consultancy classifies the Electronic Business and Logistics Engineering undergraduate programs into the A- and A+ categories, placing them 13th and 2nd in the country, respectively.
The current student enrollment totals 898, comprising 27 doctoral students, 333 master’s students, and 538 undergraduate students, with 30 of them being international.

4.Positions and Requirements for Recruitment
①Job Opening
The SCUT follows an internationally recognized “Pre-Employment to Tenure” system for teaching and research personnel (Tenure-Track). We are currently seeking high-end and young talents in relevant disciplines from across the globe.
(1) Associate Professor (Pre-Employment)
1) The maximum age for applicants is 35 years, with some exceptions up to 40 years old.
2) Applicants are required to hold a doctoral degree and possess at least 2 years of research experience in universities, research institutions, or companies, both nationally and internationally, following the completion of their Ph.D.
3) Candidates should demonstrate innovative ideas in academic research, a clear research direction, the ability to conduct independent research, potential for development, as well as a strong research foundation and achievements.
(2) Professor (Pre-Employment)
1) The maximum age for applicants is 45 years old.
2) All applicants are required to hold a doctoral degree. Overseas candidates are expected to have at least 3 years of research experience and outstanding academic achievements post-Ph.D. Domestic candidates are generally expected to hold senior professional and technical positions.
3) Applicants should demonstrate the ability to independently develop an academic direction, possess strong innovative capabilities, show great potential for academic development, and have achieved significant and recognized milestones by both domestic and international peers.
(3) Tenured Professor
1) The maximum age for applicants is 50 years old.
2) A doctoral degree is a mandatory requirement for all applicants. Overseas candidates are typically expected to have the rank of associate professor or higher at an overseas university, or to have an equivalent level in international enterprises or institutions. Domestic candidates are generally expected to hold senior professional and technical positions.
3) Applicants should have undertaken original research or key technological advancements in their respective disciplinary fields, and have achieved significant milestones, or have made notable contributions to national strategies and economic and social development.

(1) Working Conditions
1) Employment will be under the civil service system. Assistant Professors will have the opportunity to be appointed as Master’s or Ph.D. supervisors, with guaranteed support for postgraduate indicators and independent academic research. Associate Professors and Full Professors are eligible to be appointed as Ph.D. supervisors, with guaranteed support for postgraduate indicators, recruitment of postdoctoral fellows, and the establishment of academic teams.
2) Adequate research startup funds will be provided, considering disciplinary differences.

(2) Living Conditions
1) Competitive remuneration will be provided, benchmarked against corresponding positions in top international universities. Remuneration for high-level leading talents or young outstanding talents with exceptional performance can be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
2) Assistant Professors will receive remuneration at the level of Associate Professors, and Associate Professors and Full Professors will receive remuneration at the level of Full Professors. They will also enjoy fringe benefits such as social security, medical care, and a provident fund.
