The forum and conference were held on September 23rd, at the University Town Campus Concert Hall and B10 conference room. The goal of the event was to explore the principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and advance the innovative development of digital supply chains, artificial intelligence, and big data technologies and industries in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, aligning with Guangdong’s leadership in modernization efforts.

The event garnered significant attention and support from scholars and experts nationwide, with contributions from esteemed academic and research institutions including Sun Yat-sen University, Xiamen University, University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Harbin Institute of Technology, City University of Hong Kong, and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and so on. Over 300 participants attended the conference, both online and offline.



The Guangdong Provincial Association of Social Science Circles sponsored and the Department of Electronic Business at SCUT hosted this forum. It was co-organized by the Institute of Digital Commerce and Intelligent Logistics at SCUT and the Guangzhou Research Base for Digital Commerce and Smart Supply Chain. The opening ceremony was attended delivered speeches by XueLing Zeng, Vice President of Guangzhou Association for Science and Technology; Professor WenMing Zuo, Head of the Department of E-commerce and Dean of the Institute of Digital Commerce and Intelligent Logistics at SCUT; and Xuan Huang, Vice President and Secretary General of the Guangdong Computer Society, who delivered speeches. The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Lei Yang, Deputy Head of the Department of Electronic Business at SCUT.During the morning keynote session, distinguished speakers presented their research findings and shared their research outcomes. These included:
1. JunLong Chen, a member of the European Academy of Sciences, Dean of the College of Computer Science and Engineering, IEEE Fellow, AAAS Fellow, and IAPR Fellow, who presented on the “Concept of Building the Ministry of Education’s Health Intelligent Sensing and Digital Parallel Engineering Research Center.”
2. Professor KaiShun Wu, Associate Vice President of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) and IEEE Fellow, gave a speech titled “Ubiquitous Sensing: Unveiling the Secrets of Non-contact and Contact-Based Sensing Technologies.”
3. Professor YouHua Chen, the Head of the Department of Management Science at City University of Hong Kong, presented “The Application of Machine Learning in Inventory Model Research: New Product and Multi-Product Decision and Insights.”
4. Professor WenHui Zhou, a National Outstanding Young Scholar and Deputy Dean of the School of Business Administration at SCUT, delivered a speech titled “Research on Regional Medical Resource Investment under the Policy of Off-Site Medical Settlement.”
5. Prof. WenMing Zuo, Head of the Department of E-commerce and Dean of the Institute of Digital Commerce and Intelligent Logistics at SCUT, gave a talk titled “Theoretical Research and Practical Exploration of Industrial Internet.”
6. WeiMin Liu, General Manager of SF Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Co., Ltd., presented “Digital Transformation to Accelerate the Medical Digital Supply Chain in the ‘Healthy Bay Area’.”






In the afternoon, the forum consisted of two parallel sub-sessions: the Industry-University Cooperation Discussion and the Academic Sub-Forum. The participants in the Industry-University Cooperation Discussion were ShiZe Cai, Director of Big Data at SF Technology Co. Ltd, Jianyang Hu, Dean of the Education Research Institute of Greater Bay Area Education Technology Group, HongXia Bao, Director of Management Consulting at PwC China, Xin Huang, Chairman of Guangzhou Askway Information Technology Co. Ltd, and Feng Shijie, General Manager of Takeaway Printing (Guangzhou) Technology Co. Ltd. They discussed the impact of industry-university cooperation on the high-quality development of supply chains, artificial intelligence, and big data, and shared their experiences and best practices in promoting high-quality development in their respective industries. The purpose was to explore new models and approaches leading to high-quality development through industry-university cooperation.
Meanwhile, the Academic Sub-Forum featured scholars and experts such as Professor Qingliang Chen of Jinan University, Professor Junxiong Zhao of Sun Yat-sen University, Professor Quanxin Zhu of Hunan Normal University, Professor Lijun Ma of Shenzhen University, and Professor Lei Yang of SCUT. They examined various topics, including “Intelligent Supply Chain and the Construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area”, “Business Innovation and Organizational Transformation in the Greater Bay Area”, “Modern Logistics Based on Digital Intelligence Technology”, “Platform Economy, Digital Economy and Innovation of Modern Business Models”, “Social Networks and Social Computing”, and “Digital Governance of the Healthcare Service Ecosystem”.
The forum concluded with a closing ceremony that included an award session, where certificates of honor were presented to the authors of outstanding papers from the annual sub-sessions.
