Hosted by the Department of Electronic Business and the Wu Xiaolan Charity Foundation of Guangdong Province, the Big Data Application Innovation Competition aimed to improve students’ capacity to apply and innovate with big data, spark academic exchange among students and faculty, and meet the specific talent demands of the digital economy era. 18 works reached the finals of the competition.

  The final round was divided into three segments. The first segment, an online showcase, drew 9,341 viewers who appraised the students’ works and submitted 6,420 votes. The second stage was a poster presentation under the Octagonal Pavilion at Renhouli, allowing guests and students to cast their votes as contestants explained their works. The third part involved a report presentation, where contestants detailed their research using PPTs. Judges evaluated each competitor’s presentation and the content of their works. The competition culminated with one piece winning the first prize, three winning the second, and six winning the third.

  The organization of the Big Data Application Innovation Competition encouraged academic interactions among students and provided novel insights from faculty and students of diverse professional backgrounds. It motivated students to fearlessly innovate and exhibit their talents, inspiring them to pursue expertise in big data application and contribute to the high-quality economic development of Digital China.
