To deepen industry-education integration, advance industry-university-research collaborative innovation and build a high-quality talent training platform, on July 1, 2026, a delegation from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, South China University of Technology (SCUT), led by Huang Guoqing, Party Secretary of the School, and Liang Zhenxing, Vice Dean, paid a visit to Shengyi Technology Co., Ltd. (Guangdong), an alumni enterprise in Dongguan. The delegation consisted of officials from the School’s Teaching and Research Administration Office, faculty professors, student counsellors and undergraduate student representatives. They held exchange discussions with Chen Renxi, Chairman of the Company and Distinguished Alumni of SCUT, as well as the enterprise’s core management and technical teams.
Secretary Huang Guoqing extended sincere greetings to Chairman Chen Renxi and spoke highly of Shengyi Technology’s leading achievements in the global electronic substrate industry. He stated that the School looks forward to establishing regular multi-dimensional cooperation with Shengyi Technology covering technological innovation, talent cultivation and Party-building co-construction, so as to achieve mutual empowerment and shared development for both the university and enterprise through integrated industry and education. Vice Dean Liang Zhenxing presented the School’s disciplinary strengths, research achievements, distinctive features and faculty resources, and put forward concrete proposals for future cooperation.
Chairman Chen Renxi recalled his academic years at SCUT, acknowledging that his alma mater endowed him with an open, liberal mindset and a solid academic foundation. These strengths supported him as he started from a grassroots position, overcame developmental bottlenecks, and steered the enterprise toward steady expansion. He introduced that keeping pace with industrial trends such as communications and artificial intelligence, Shengyi Technology independently develops high-end electronic substrates, shifting its industry position from a follower to a global leader. The company is now a key supplier to world-renowned enterprises including NVIDIA, maintaining sound performance in operating revenue, employee welfare and tax contributions. He noted that Shengyi Technology’s R&D work is consistently market- and product-oriented. Moving forward, the enterprise will sort out technical research topics aligned with SCUT’s disciplinary advantages to carry out joint research breakthroughs with the university.
Luo Liyu, President of the Group Administrative Center and Manager of the Human Resources & Administration Department, gave a comprehensive briefing on Shengyi Technology’s development history, core products, industrial layout and technological edges. He accompanied the university delegation on an on-site tour of production lines and R&D laboratories, offering first-hand insights into the company’s robust R&D capabilities and large-scale manufacturing capacity in electronic substrates.
The School presented commemorative alumni gifts to Chairman Chen Renxi. Chairman Chen engaged in cordial conversations with the undergraduate students on the trip, encouraging them to study diligently and persistently during their university years, delve deep into their majors with perseverance, and lay a solid foundation for their future careers through long-term consistent efforts. This visit further strengthened ties between the School and the leading alumni enterprise, clarifying the direction of joint university-enterprise innovation and collaborative talent cultivation.
