Prof. Yan Ning obtained her B.Sc. and Ph.D. in Chemistry from Peking University, then joined EPFL (Switzerland) as a Marie-Curie post-doctoral fellow. In 2012 she established the Green Catalysis Laboratory at the National University of Singapore (NUS), where she was promoted to tenured Associate Professor in 2018 and to Full Professor in 2024. She currently serves as Director of the NUS Hydrogen Innovation Centre.
Her accolades include the NUS Outstanding Educator Award (2025), Asia-Pacific Catalysis Society Innovation Prize (2025), Singapore NRF Investigatorship (2022), NUS Young Researcher Award (2019), ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering Lectureship Award (2018), and the RSC Environment, Sustainability & Energy Early-Career Award (2017). She has been listed as a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher (Chemistry) for 2022-2025.
Prof. Yan is Editor-in-Chief of Molecular Catalysis, President of the Singapore Catalysis Society, and Vice-President of the Asia-Pacific Catalysis Association.
