[Brief profile]

Yu Xiaoqi is a Professor and Ph.D. supervisor at Sichuan University and Xihua University, and recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. He formerly served as Deputy Director of the Science & Technology Division of Sichuan University, Dean of the College of Chemistry at Sichuan University, Head of the Organization Department of the Sichuan University Party Committee, Vice President and later Party Secretary of Xihua University, and Party Secretary and Director of the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education.
His research centers on fluorescent bioprobes, biomedical materials chemistry, and the synthesis of bioactive molecules. He has authored one monograph (*Macrocyclic Polyamines: Synthesis and Applications*, Wiley-VCH, 2017) and contributed six chapters/sections to other textbooks and monographs, and has published more than 360 SCI-indexed papers. Among his honors are the First Prize of the Ministry of Education Natural Science Award, the Second Prize of the Sichuan Provincial Natural Science Award, and the Second Prize of the Sichuan Provincial Science & Technology Progress Award.
