Notice on the Frontier Interdisciplinary Forum for Chemical New Materials


To further enhance academic exchange and promote interdisciplinary integration and development, the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at South China University of Technology plans to host the Frontier Interdisciplinary Forum for Chemical New Materials on December 6–7, 2025. The forum aims to deeply explore emerging issues at the intersection of chemical engineering, materials science, and related cutting-edge disciplines, as well as to examine new trends in the development of advanced technologies, providing forward-looking insights for academic and industrial advancement.

4. Speaker Biographies

ZiyiGe

Second-level researcher and doctoral supervisor at the Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology & Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Recipient of the National Distinguished Young Scholars Fund and Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry. Director of the Zhejiang Provincial Engineering Research Center for Energy Optoelectronics. His research focuses on organic/perovskite solar cells and OLEDs. He has published over 310 SCI papers in journals such as “Nature Photonics”, “Chem. Soc. Rev.”, “Joule”, “Nature Communications”, “Science Advances”, “Advanced Materials”, and “Energy & Environmental Science”, and holds over 70 patents. He has led major national R&D projects, NSFC key projects, and regional joint key projects. He is a Clarivate Global Highly Cited Researcher (2024) and serves on the editorial boards of 8 journals.


GengfengZheng

Professor at Fudan University, “Jinsi” Chair Professor of the Ruiqing Education Foundation, and Chief Scientist of a National Key R&D Program. Recipient of the National Distinguished Young Scholars Fund, Changjiang Young Scholar, and Clarivate Global Highly Cited Researcher (2018–2025). He has received awards including the Shanghai Natural Science Second Prize, the Chinese Chemical Society Nano Research Award, and the Youth Chemistry Award. He is the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of “Journal of Colloid and Interface Science” and serves on several academic committees.


YangHou  

Tenured and Qiushi Distinguished Professor at Zhejiang University, recipient of the National Distinguished Young Scholars Fund, and Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry. His research focuses on renewable energy generation and green hydrogen under the “carbon neutrality” framework. He has published over 300 papers in journals such as “Nature Catalysis” and “Nature Reviews Clean Technology”, with over 31,000 citations and 40+ authorized patents.


Guo Xiaodong

Professor and doctoral supervisor, Dean of the School of Chemical Engineering at Sichuan University. Recipient of the National Distinguished Young Scholars Fund and the Ministry of Education’s Young Talents Program, Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry. He leads a national “Huang Danian”-style teaching team and focuses on chemical new materials, especially key materials for secondary batteries. He has published over 100 papers in the past five years and holds 20 authorized patents. He has received numerous national and provincial awards, including the National Science and Technology Progress Second Prize.


Zhenghong Luo

Fellow of the Chinese Chemical Society, recipient of the National Distinguished Young Scholars Fund, Changjiang Scholar, and National “Ten Thousand Talents” Program Distinguished Professor. He is a specially appointed professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Vice President of Ningxia University. He has long been engaged in (polymer) reactor engineering research and has developed over 25 large-scale industrial reactors used by companies such as ExxonMobil, Sinopec, and China Energy Group.


ZhijianZhao

Professor and doctoral supervisor at Tianjin University, Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor, and Deputy Director of the Joint International Laboratory for Low-Carbon Energy and Chemical Engineering. His research focuses on AI-guided rational catalyst design. He has published nearly 200 papers in journals such as “Science” and “Nature Nanotechnology”, and holds over 10 patents and software copyrights. He is the Executive Editor-in-Chief of “Chemical Engineering Science”.
