Profile of Professor Deng Weiping:
Deng Weiping is a professor and doctoral supervisor at Zhejiang Normal University.He is the director of the Zhejiang Provincial Engineering Center for Advanced Preparation Technology of Chiral Drugs and the director of the Institute of Drug Innovation at Zhejiang Normal University.He has been recognized as anOutstanding Talent of the New Centuryby the Ministry of Education and aShuguang Scholarby Shanghai Municipality.He graduated from Zhejiang Normal University in 1995 and obtained his Ph.D.in Science from the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry,Chinese Academy of Sciences,in 2000.From 2000 to 2003,he conducted postdoctoral research at the National Institutes of Health and the University of Rochester in the United States.In 2003,he joined the Singaporean new drug development company SBIO to work on the research and development of targeted small-molecule anticancer drugs.In 2005,he was appointed to the School of Pharmacy at East China University of Science and Technology,where he successively served as the director of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and vice dean.In 2021,he joined Zhejiang Normal University as a distinguished professor.He also serves as a member of the Teaching Steering Committee for Pharmacy Majors in Higher Education Institutions under the Ministry of Education,a member of the Pharmaceutical Branch of the Zhejiang Society of Translational Medicine,and an editorial board member of Green Synthesis&Catalysis and Chinese Journal of Organic Chemistry(CJOC).He has undertaken more than 20 research projects,including the National Natural Science Foundation of China,the Zhejiang Provincial Leading Innovative and Entrepreneurial Team Project,the Zhejiang Provincial Natural Science Foundation Key Project,and the Shanghai Municipal Biomedicine Key Project.He has published more than 130 SCI papers in international core journals such as J.Am.Chem.Soc.,Angew.Chem.Int.Ed.,and ACS Catal.
