Reporter's Profile:

Zheng Honghe,Professor at the School of Energy,Soochow University,and Doctoral Supervisor.He obtained his Ph.D.in Materials Science from Hunan University in 2001,and conducted collaborative research at the Department of Engineering,Kyoto University,Japan,in 2004.In 2007,he joined the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in the United States,and returned to China to join Soochow University in 2010,where he was responsible for establishing the School of Energy.He has successively served as the Dean and Academic Committee Chairman of the School of Energy at Soochow University.He is the convener of the Chemical Power Source Branch of the Chinese Electrochemical Society,a director of the Chinese Chemical and Physical Power Source Society,a director of the Chinese Solid State Ionics Society,and an editorial board member of the"Energy Storage Science and Technology"and"Power Source Technology"magazines.He is currently a Distinguished Professor at Soochow University,Dean of Jiangsu Huasheng Lithium Battery Materials Research Institute,and General Manager of Suzhou Huajia New Energy Materials Technology Co.,Ltd.His research areas include advanced carbon materials,soft functional dielectric materials(electrolytes and binders),and lithium-ion battery process science.In recent years,he has successively presided over 6 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China,2 major projects(sub-topics)of the 863 Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology,and published 2 scientific works such as"Lithium-Ion Battery Electrolytes"and"Silicon-Based Anode Materials for Lithium-Ion Batteries".He has published more than 200 papers in domestic and foreign major journals,including more than 100 papers in the first zone of SCI,applied for 67 patents(37 authorized),and successively won the second prize of Jiangsu Province Science and Technology Award in 2016 and 2021.


Abstract:

Electrolyte is one of the four main materials of lithium-ion batteries and has an important impact on the battery's capacity,power,cycle,and safety.This report starts from the analysis of various reaction forms of the electrolyte on the electrode surface,discusses the various reaction forms of the electrolyte in the battery,and further deeply understands the new mechanism and various reaction forms of the SEI film.It discusses the new mechanism of the SEI film on the negative electrode surface of the electrolyte from several aspects such as front orbital theory,solvation theory,double-layer theory,passivation film theory,and selective adsorption.It determines the impact of double-layer regulation on changing the performance of silicon anodes and further proposes various new methods and new technologies for controlling the SEI film.Starting from the role and impact of the electrolyte on the silicon anode,it explores the new mechanism of the electrolyte's role.This report is a high-level summary of the current lithium-ion battery electrolyte system and is of great significance for the development of high-performance lithium-ion batteries.
