Title: AI Empowering the Practice and Reflection on the Construction of Chemical Engineering Disciplines
Speaker: Professor Lu Yunfeng (Tsinghua University) Report Time: April 3, 2025 (Wednesday) 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Venue: Conference Room on the 4th Floor of the Shaw Engineering Building
Speaker’s Profile:
Professor Lu Yunfeng, Ph.D. supervisor, is currently the Vice Dean of the School of Chemical Engineering at Tsinghua University. In 2008, he was selected as one of the top 100 excellent doctoral dissertations in the country and was included in the Beijing Youth Talent Program. In 2020, he was named a Beijing Outstanding Young Teacher, and in 2024, he received the Baosteel Excellent Teacher Award.
He focuses on complex system thermodynamics research, combining artificial intelligence technology, proposing a new multi-scale calculation method that integrates theory and data, clarifying the mechanism of photo-driven ion flow and ion separation, revealing the bottom-up transmission pathways and multi-body system reaction dynamics of catalytic processes, providing thermodynamic calculations and simulation methods for the creation and application of nano devices, industrial enzymes, and industrial fungus. He has published more than 140 SCI papers, including 5 review articles, with an English citation of over 5,000 times, 5 English monographs, 1 translated book, and 20 authorized invention patents. In terms of teaching, he is mainly responsible for undergraduate courses (Physical Chemistry), (Thermodynamics and Kinetics), (Chemical Thermodynamics), and graduate courses (Advanced Chemical Thermodynamics), and has built the first AI-assisted teaching system for chemical engineering, which has been selected as one of the first batch of AI + higher education application scenarios by the Ministry of Education.
