 Report Abstract:

Silicon-centered chiral organosilicon compounds have unique structures and properties, showing unique value and application prospects in fields such as synthetic chemistry, materials chemistry, and pharmaceutical chemistry. Over the past five years, Professor He Chuan's research team has systematically studied the construction of silicon-centered chiral organosilicon compounds. They have developed a general and suitable catalytic asymmetric dehydrogenative coupling reaction (Si-CADC, Catalytic Asymmetric Dehydrogenative Coupling toward Si-stereogenic silanes), providing an ideal solution for the catalytic synthesis of silicon-centered chiral organosilicon compounds. This has achieved efficient synthesis of structurally diverse silicon-centered chiral compounds, expanding the space for chiral silicon materials and promoting the development of chiral organosilicon chemistry.

 Speaker’s Profile:

He Chuan, a researcher in the Chemistry Department of Southern University of Science and Technology, specializes in chiral organosilicon chemistry. He obtained his Bachelor's and Ph.D. degrees from Wuhan University between 2004 and 2013. From 2013 to 2017, he conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Cambridge in the UK. Since 2018, he has been independently conducting research at Southern University of Science and Technology. In 2021, he received the National Excellent Youth Fund; in 2023, he was awarded the Shenzhen Outstanding Technological Innovation Talent Jie Qing Project grant.

Since starting his independent work, he has focused on systematic research in chiral organosilicon chemistry and organophosphorus chemistry, achieving significant scientific breakthroughs. Particularly in chiral organosilicon chemistry, he has systematically developed a class of asymmetric catalytic dehydrogenative coupling reactions with characteristic tags to construct chiral centers. At the same time, in the field of chiral organophosphorus chemistry, he pioneered the construction of chiral phosphorus-containing compounds using catalytic methods, which not only opens up new avenues for the synthesis of chiral compounds but also demonstrates the important application prospects of chiral functional materials.

He has published over 50 independent papers, including one in Nat Chem, one in Nat Synth, one in Acc Chem Res, one in CCS Chem, one in J Am Chem Soc, four in Angew Chem Int Ed, seven in Nat Commun, two in Chem Soc Rev, one in Chem, one in ACS Catal, three in Chem Sci, etc.; he has also written two academic monographs and applied for 12 national invention patents, with seven granted.
