Inorganic Chemistry Discipline Frontiers and Teaching Forum Successfully Held
The "Inorganic Chemistry Discipline Frontiers and Teaching Forum" attended by Peking University, Nanjing University, Sun Yat-sen University and South China University of Technology (SCUT) was successfully held in School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, SCUT on the 30th November, 2020. Key attendees included academicians Zhenfeng Xi from Peking University, Xiaoming Chen from Sun Yat-sen University, Zijian Guo from Nanjing University, and Song Gao, Benzhong Tang, Yong Cao from SCUT, as well as 19 National Outstanding Youth Fund recipients and other 39 scholars. The forum was opened by Prof. Zhengguo Zhang,Dean of School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, SCUT, and then addressed by academicians Song Gao, President of SCUT, Xiaoming Chen and Zijian Guo.

After the opening ceremony, academician Zhenfeng Xi leaded the forum with a lecture entitled as ‘Chemistry in Air Conversion: Direct Utilization of Nitrogen and Oxygen’. In addition, 16 other outstanding young scholars also presented their academic achievements. The wonderful academic reports by the experts aroused great interests of audiences who were enthusiastic to discuss and exchange opinions with the experts, showing a very active atmosphere of the forum.

The forum promoted the exchanges of academic frontiers in Inorganic Chemistry among the four universities, and discussed new trends, new problems and new revelations in the development of Inorganic Chemistry in the new era, and also triggered the construction and development of the Inorganic Chemistry discipline in SCUT.
