Title: Membrane Technology Applied in Hydrothermal Recovery of Flue Gas
Speaker: Dr. Shuaifei Zhao(MQ Research Fellow, Macquarie University, Australia)
Time: 15:00-17:30p.m., Dec. 21st, 2016
Venue: Room 105, Shaw Engineering Building, Wushan Campus

Abstract:
Expertise: Membrane distillation/evaporation, forward osmosis and pressure retarded osmosis membranes and processes (e.g. membrane fouling, scaling, cleaning, concentration polarization and applications); high performance membrane fabrication and modification; membrane technologies for liquid, gas and vapor separations (e.g. membrane contactors).
Achievements and Awards: In the past 5 years, Dr. Zhao has published 22 journal papers on various membrane separation technologies, and 19 of them are in the top 25% of journals in relevant subject categories. He also delivered more than 12 lectures on a number of international membrane conferences. His high quality publications have been highly cited (total citations = 1041 and average citations per paper > 47, retrieved by Google Scholar on 2 December 2016). His quality research and international reputation in the membrane field has been recognised by an Endeavour Fellowship (2016), an Australian Water Association Award (2011), a University Travel Award (2011), two invited presentations and serving as a regular reviewer for 15 prestigious international journals (e.g. Science, Journal of Membrane Science, Water Research and Environmental Science & Technology).
