Through sharing from the editor's perspective, case analysis and interactive discussions, help participants understand the review priorities of high-level journals, and improve research quality and publication capabilities.

Speaker Profile

Nicolas Roth has long been engaged in research related to environmental health, evidence synthesis methods, and quality control of scientific research publications. He has rich experience in systematic reviews, evidence mapping, research quality evaluation, and editorial review standards. He has also been involved in international cooperative research and method construction for a long time. Currently, he also serves as the editor of the evidence Synthesis Methods direction at Environment International, continuously promoting the standardization of methods, quality improvement, and academic publication practices in evidence synthesis research.

Content Arrangement

1. Basic quality standards and normative requirements for comprehensive evidence research;

2. How do international journals evaluate the academic quality and publication value of systematic reviews and related research;

3. Common problems in the topic selection, design, implementation, reporting and submission of comprehensive evidence research;

4. Common reasons for rejection during the initial review by editors and corresponding strategies;

5. How to enhance the standardization, persuasiveness and publication potential of research results from the aspects of research design and writing.

Target Population

This workshop is open to teachers, students and researchers in the field of built environment and related interdisciplinary studies. The following individuals are especially welcome to sign up:

1. Teachers and researchers in fields such as architecture, urban and rural planning, landscape architecture, and urban studies;

2. Postdoctoral researchers and doctoral students who focus on issues such as urban health, environmental exposure, spatial intervention, and evidence-based research;

3. Participants who have already possessed the basic theories or practical experience of systematic reviews and wish to further enhance the quality of their research and their ability to submit papers.

Participants should, in principle, have a basic understanding of the systematic review process. If one already has a certain understanding of other types of evidence synthesis methods, it will be more conducive to participating in on-site discussions and case analyses.
