The final evaluation of 2017UIA-Hope Cup Competition was held at South China University of Technology

On September 19, 2017, the final evaluation part of UIA-Hope Cup 2017 International University Students’ Architectural Design Competition was held in South China University of Technology (SCUT),sponsored by the International Association of Architects (UIA), Tianjin University School of Architecture, City Environment and Design Press (UED), as well as the School of Architecture, South China University of Technology.


UIA-Hope Cup began in 2012. It is an annual, and one of the most influential, largest architectural design competition for college students all over world.


The 2017Competition continues the theme of "Evolving Architecture "and" Change /Reshape" as a design topic, encourages students to imagine that the design can interact with the surrounding and have the vitality of the building, lead the selected existing space a "mutation". This challenge, extremely with original and future colors, is a promotion of design ideas  

After a few rounds of intense review, deliberation and resolution, from the beginning of the anti-vote to the final victory of the election, guests heated discussion, each of their favorite entries for votes. The final guests from more than 30 countries and regions a total of more than 3 thousand students enrolled, 675 qualified entries for the award winning entries, a total selection of 76 groups of award-winning works, among them, the first prize 1 group, the second prize 3 group, the third prize 8 group, the outstanding award 24 group and the finalists award 40 group.

The Hope Cup review conference is not only a collection of outstanding architects, the evaluation of the impact of the exchange of ideas, but also an opportunity to enhance the impact of domestic architectural education in the international architectural education sector, in order to promote the architecture education system in our country, the design concept and the solid foundation of architecture can effectively combine to make a contribution.
