“New thoughts and new directions” cross-strait academic symposium of 2016 landscape planning was held at School of Architecture

On the afternoon of June 4th, “New thoughts and new directions” cross-strait academic symposium of 2016 landscape planning was successfully held at the multimedia reporting hall of Building No.6, co-hosted by School of Architecture of South China University, Visual culture research center, Sun Yat-sen University and Nanfang College of Sun Yat-Sen University, attended by nearly 50 scholars, designers, professors and teachers of landscape.

Although there was a big thunderstorm with a yellow warning before the symposium, yet it couldn’t stop the participating enthusiasm from teachers and students. The symposium started with the relaxed interaction between vice-director of Department of Landscape, School of Architecture, Professor Lin guangsi and Dean of College of Applied Arts and Sciences, National FormosaUniversity, Professor Hou jinxiong. Then Prof. Hou gave us a keynote speech of development process and future planning with new design view ofTaiwan landscape. He reviewed the background of professional and educational development of Taiwan landscape, shared history development and present situationof the cross-strait landscape with us.
