On Oct. 26th to 30th, 2015, the University of Melbourne Vice President, School of Architecture former President, Prof. Thomas Kvan was invited to pay a visit to School of Architecture, SCUT.
At the meeting hall of Liwu Building of Science and Technology, Prof. Tom was received by SCUT Vice President Zhu Min, where they had conversations together with directors from SCUT International Office and School of Architecture, sharing the latest development of the two universities.
Except for being the Dean of School of Architecture and Planning in University of Melbourne, Prof. Tom is also the university's Vice President who is in charge of campus design and construction. As an internationally recognized professional, he has high reputation in management of design practice and digital application of designs.
On the evening of Oct. 27th, Prof. Tom made a speech of "Studying in a Place for Learning" at the reporting hall of Red Building. He shared his unique opinions and deep insight in terms of architecture education, campus planning, architecture design and so on in a vivid way though the example of new building at School of Architecture, University of Melbourne.
During his visiting time, Prof. Tom had a discussion with our vice president Prof. SUN Yinmin and Prof. XIAO Yiqiang and other teachers at the aspects of education and scientific research, and visited our teaching building and model laboratory.
