On Oct. 25^th, the 2015 Macao International Design Exhibition of the second Golden Lotus International Design Invitational Tournament, within the 20^th Macao International Trade and Investment Fair (MIF), was held in the Venetian Macao—Resort –Hotel. The Academician of China Academy of Engineering, Prof. HE Jingtang from South China University of Technology was invited to attend the joint exhibition and honored with the “Design ∙ China” Outstanding Contribution Award together with Pritzker Architecture Prize winners Zaha Hadid, Alvaro Siza and Academician Prof. ZHANG Jinqiu.

This award is set by Macao International Design Exhibition, sponsored by the government of the Macao Special Administrative Region, attracted by international enterprises and associations especially the Portuguese speaking countries and areas. Every year, the Award Ceremony of Macao International Design Exhibition will be held during the MIF period.

Prof. HE gave a keynote speech on “Cultural inheritance and architectural innovation”, pointed out that the inheritance and innovation are the permanent theme of architecture, and the basic design innovation theories with Chinese characteristics. He emphasized the regional, morphological and spatial logic elements to promote the quality of architecture, as well as the combination with modern materials, techniques and aesthetics, to realize the harmony of regionalism, culture, and contemporaneity.
