Abstract
Design activism is an emerging movement that puts design as a central focus in exploring basic civic and societal problems. In this presentation and discussion I will examine a number of projects in my body of work and offer up how designers might engage with greater social processe and issues. The work explores "absences" in everyday life and gives them a "presence". It seeks to reveal new ways of seeing the world and challenges existing paradigms.
