From Nov. 4 to 8, more than 60 teachers and students from South China University of Technology (SCUT), Tongji University, Southeast University, Tokyo Institute of Technology, took part in the joint workshops at No.27 building, East Hall, for the Sino-Japanese cooperative program among the four-top-schools of architecture in 2013-2014.
All students divided into 13 groups, with mixed Japanese and Chinese team members, researched and designed to think about the urban renew for the area of the 3rd Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University. The program was convened by Prof. SUN Yimin, Prof. WANG Bowei, Prof. OKUYAMA Shinichi, and was taken serious consideration by many professional experts and government officers. During the workshop period, Prof. OKUYAMA gave a wonderful lecture on the topic of "the Evidence of Architecture".
The joint program includes two parts: the Autumn joint workshop in 2013 and the Spring final review in 2014. This international program one of the special programs in our school. It happened every year recently for this kind of international cooperation, for example with famous universities like Harvard and UC Berkeley in US, University of Ferrara, Politecnio di Turino and Milano in Itaty. It helped students and tutors to open mind and communicate with international background.
