On the morning of Nov. 21, Prof. Warunee Wang, the vice dean in charge of education, and seven other tutors from School of Architecture, Khon Kaen University, Thailand, visited our school. Prof. XIAO YIqiang hosted the guest and directors from each grade of design courses attended the meeting.
Prof. XIAO introduced Guangzhou city and the history and development of the education situation in our school, including teaching arrangement, discipline construction, student cultivation, practical achievement, international exchange programs and so on. Directors from design courses introduced our teaching philosophy, tasks and student works.
Both sides had a deep discussion in terms of curriculum design, teaching plan of undergraduate teaching, architectural design course, student cultivation and aspects of cooperation and exchange programs. After the symposium, the two schools exchanged souvenirs, and visited library and classrooms.
Khon Kaen University was established in 1964, approved by the King, is one of the most famous public universities, ranking top 5, in Thailand. What’s more, Khon Kaen University is the biggest university in Thailand, with floor area more than ten thousand acres, 35000 students. Most of their teachers consist of experts and scholars, come from all around the world. 90% of them hold doctorate. All of these make it to be the biggest and the most authority educational and scientific research institution in northeast of Thailand.
