
From Dec. 7th to 20th, the School of Architecture invited Prof. Peter Bosselmann from the University of California, Berkeley for an academic visit, sponsored by Guangzhou Foreign Experts Bureau and Foreign Affairs Office of SCUT.
In the evening of 17th, Prof. Bosselmann presented a public lecture in the international meeting hall, Liwu Science and Technology Building, on the topic of “Cooperation---- An international collaboration of contemporary architecture and urban studies”. Prof. Bosselmann reviewed the cooperation of joint teaching program with our school in the last six years, deeply explained key points of each program and the significance for the government decisions. Prof. Bosselmann emphasized the importance of contemporary cooperation, which can help us know when, why and how we work, etc. After the lecture, he had a discussion with our students and teachers on architectural education.
On Dec. 19th, Prof. Bosselmann was invited to the symposium held by teachers of Landscape, to examine the current cooperation in the recent years.
Prof. Bosselmann is a tenured professor of the Department of Architecture, the Department of Landscape Architecture, the Department of Urban and Regional Planning in Berkeley, the present chairman of the Committee on Urban Design Master's degree, with abundant teaching and research experience. He is now working with our faculty for the publication of workshop results and researches over years.
