Mr. SHI Nan (group leader), senior urban planner, Vice chairman and Secretary General of the Urban Planning Society of China (UPSA), Ms. LI Ying, senior engineer from Guangzhou Planning Bureau, Prof. Ms. CHEN Xiaojian from Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology, Prof. Ms. YUN Yingxia from Tianjin University are assigned by the committee of higher education in urban planning of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development to assess and inspect the undergraduate and postgraduate education of our Urban Planning Department on May 19th to 21st, 2014.
The group listened carefully to the report presented by the director of Urban Planning Department, met and communicated with Deputy Vice-president PENG Xinyi, Vice-president QIU Xueqing, academician Prof. HE Jingtang and academician Prof. WU Shuoxian, as well as many other relative directors. They visited our teaching and research facilities and practical base, visited the planning homework exhibition and part of courses, discussed with teachers, students, some graduates and representatives of employing units, etc.
After the inspection, the assess group exchanged ideas with our school leaders, gave feedback to teachers and students on the assessment and thought highly on the achievement of our school. The Urban Planning Department of SCUT is one of the first to participate in the evaluation among domestic colleges and Universities, and this is the third time to receive evaluation.
