Recently, the Ministry of Education has released the list of National Teaching Achievement Awards in 2014. Among the list, two awards are come from the School of Architecture of our university. The project that is run by Prof. HE Jingtang, “Combination of Production and Academy, Research and Education, Cultivating High Quality Talent”, won the first prize. Another project, “Research and Practice of Education System for Cultivating Creative Talent in Architectural Disciplines”, run by Prof. SUN Yimin, Prof. XIAO Yiqiang, Prof. FENG Jiang, Prof. ZHUANG Shaopang, Prof. SU Ping, got the second prize. Our school got these two prestigious awards again after 1997, showing our school has made great progress in education.
In recent years, our school focused the strengthen of foundation and development as well as widen internationalization, has inherited and developed the 80 years history of tradition and spirit of South China Architectural School, insisted on cultivating talents, carried out normalization and multi-level international cooperation in education, built educational platform and promoted the reform and development of undergraduate education activity.
The National Teaching Achievement Awards totally assesses three kinds of awards, presenting the great importance of educational development, representing the highest level in our national teaching work. Nowadays, the National Teaching Achievement Awards is considered as important as National Science and Technology Achievement Awards. There are 452 programs got the National Teaching Achievement Awards in 2014, setting 2 outstanding prizes, 50 first prizes, 400 second prizes.
