Received a PhD in Architectural History and Theory from South China University of Technology in January 2003.

Graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from South China University of Technology in June 1993.

Research interest

He worked as the director of the two projects（No. 50308010；No. 52078216）sponsored by NSFC (National Natural Science Foundation of China). His main research interest includes:

1. Research on the timber structure system of ancient building, focusing on the formalism and scale issues in middle age of China with Ying-zao-fa-shi;

2. Research on traditional residential houses and settlements in South China, as well as the spatial history theory based on this research.
