Professor Feng Jiang, Head of the Architecture Department at South China University of Technology, specializes in the regional architectural historiography, exemplified by the monograph In the Name of Forefathers: Traditional Kinship-based Settlements and Ancestral Halls in Canton Prefecture During the Ming and Qing Dynasties. He was a visiting scholar at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2017 and Politecnico di Torino in 2018. He also served as a member of the ICOMOS Scoping Study on Maritime Silk Routes Task Force from 2022 to 2024.

Academic Interests
(1) Regional architectural historiography, emphasizing the integration of environmental history, socioeconomic history, construction history, and spatial evolution through the lens of historical anthropology.
(2) Built heritage conservation: cultural heritage restoration, historic urban precincts regeneration, and neighborhood revitalization.
(3) Design in heritage contexts: urbanism, architecture, and landscape.
