School of Electric Power Engineering was established on Dec. 26, 1994 with the support of Electric Industrial Development Bureau of Guangdong Provence, which  is the first case in China to run a school  with the united force of  University and society.

In our school, there are three faculties including Electric Power, Power Electronics, and Power Engineering. It offers a variety of programs, including 2 undergraduate programs, 8 Master's programs, 6 doctoral programs and 2 post-doctoral research centers. It has  1 leading laboratorie and 1 engineering research center and with provincial level. It has more than 159 staff members.The school keeps to the principle that “Cultivating students is the fundamental”. It has a very fine academic ambience. The college emphasizes fostering students’ pioneering spirit and practical ability and producing tip-top talents as well. Recently, the employment rate of our college graduates lies in the University. The college strengthens establishment of innovation system and improvement of innovation ability, particularly stresses innovation of sources in scientific research to advance sustained, coordinated and stable development of scientific research.
