Recently, the 6th International Conference on Energy, Electrical and Power Engineering was held in Guangzhou. Zhu Min, Vice President of South China University of Technology, and Huang Weiliang, General Manager of Guangdong Power Grid Co., Ltd., attended the meeting and delivered speeches.
The conference is jointly organized by South China University of Technology, China Southern Power Grid Guangdong Power Grid Co., Ltd., and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and is hosted by College of Electric Power engineering at South China University of Technology and the Guangdong Society of Electrical Engineering.
Wu Qinghua, the professor of South China University of Technology, served as the chairman of the advisory committee and presided over the meeting. Experts such as Zhou Xiaoxin, the academician of the CAS Member, Xue Yusheng, the academician of the CAE Member, Mohammad Shahidehpour, the academician of the American Academy of Engineering, Chen Weijiang, the academician of the CAS Member, and Rao Hong, the academician of the CAE Member, served as members of the advisory committee of the meeting.
Zhu Min introduced the history and achievements of South China University of Technology, and called on experts to fully discuss the new challenges that have arisen in the construction and operation of the power system, and explore the future development direction of the power system. Huang Weiliang stated in his speech that Guangdong Power Grid, as the largest provincial power grid in China and even the southern power grid, has cultivated a number of internationally leading new achievements in superconducting current limiters, flexible direct interconnection technology, and other areas. He hopes that the attending experts can focus on the opportunities and challenges faced by energy and power systems, jointly explore ideas and measures to empower complex systems, and carry out high-level academic exchanges.
After the opening ceremony, Academician Zhou Xiaoxin, Academician Xue Yusheng, and Professor Wu Qinghua gave keynote speeches on the theme of Empowering Complex Systems to Light the Future at the conference. Professors Mohammad Shahidehpour, King Jet Tseng, Zhang Xiaoping, Zhu Jizhong, and Wang Xiongfei delivered keynote speeches online.
