From 12:00 to 14:30 on November 14, 2020, Electric Power Engineering School held a teaching luncheon of exploration and practice of interdisciplinary courses in conference room 211 of Building 9. The meeting was presided over by Vice President Liao Yanfen and invited Li Hongtao, chief engineer of Electric Power Research Institute of Beijing Electric Power Company, to discuss the scientificity of professional talent training scheme from the perspective of enterprise employment demand. More than 20 teachers, including Jing Zhaoxia, vice president of Electric Power Engineering School, assistant dean, department heads, professional principals, lecturers, academic administrators and some teacher representatives of other colleges, attended the meeting.

Focusing on the talent demand for industrial development and the development trend of power and energy discipline in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and in combination with the 14th five year plan development plan of South China University of Technology and Electric Power Engineering School, the meeting held a heated discussion on the revision of the teaching and training plan of the excellent class of Electrical Engineering major and the teaching methods of interdisciplinary courses.
