[Abstract]

Results on Sparse Optimization & Moment Relaxation Methods to AC Power Flow Related Problems and energy schedule in demand side management will be introduced. Sparse optimisation technique has been applied in optimal power flow related problems such as FACTS Device Allocation, Internal Power Flow and multi-period OPF, respectively. FACTS device allocation problem has been formulated as a general sparsity-constrained OPF problem and employs Lq norms to enforce sparsity on FACTS devices setting values to achieve solutions with desirable device numbers and sites. Interval power flow (IPF) analysis aims at obtaining the upper and lower bounds of power flow solutions under interval uncertainties. Correlative sparsity in the polynomial optimization problems is exploited to improve numerical tractability and efficiency. A novel convex relaxation based decomposition algorithm is proposed in this work to solve the full AC multi-period OPF with energy storages and renewable sources. Finally, energy schedule in demand-side management, including uncertainties of manually operated appliances and introducing safety of appliances automatically operated as a new optimization will be briefed.
