Electric Power Experimental Center that is attached to School of Electric power comprises of electrotechnics basis laboratory and power specialty laboratory. Electric Power Experimental Center now includes 16 laboratories with the size up to 2900 M2. As a laboratory for basic theory curricula, electrotechnics basis laboratory mainly opens to electrical and electronical practice teaching for non-electricity specialty of the university. Electrotechnics basis laboratory mainly includes electrotechnics technology basis laboratory,electronics echnology basis laboratory and EDA laboratory. And experiment contents contain analogue electronics experiment,digital electronics experiment, electrotechnics principle experiment,motor control experiment,PLC experiment and EDA simulation experiment. Electric power specialty laboratories are classfied by disciplines as electrical machine laboratory, power electronic laboratory,power system dynamic simultion laboratory,power system digital simultion laboratory,high-voltage laboratory,relaying protection laboratory, power automation laboratory, generation simulation system laboratory,thermodynamics laboratory,heat –transfer laboratory,combustion laboratory, boiler laboratory and thermal instrument laboratory. Power specialty laboratory is mostly concerned with the domains of Electrical Engineering and Motive Engineering with their experiment contents including power system comprehensive experiment, power system stability experiment, relalying protection experiment, power system automation experiment, power information comprehensive experiment, high-voltage experiment, electrical machine experiment, power electronic experiment, PLC control technology experiment, micro-computer design experiment, MATLAB simulation technology experiment, power plant simulation control experiment, heat-transfer experiment , engineering thermal experiment ,thermal process auto-adjustment experiment and power motive engineering comprehensive experinet.
Laboratories in Electric Power Experimental Center are chiefly provided for graduation and postgraduation teaching. The most important task is to assist studeints basis and specialty experiments in the form of design and comprehensive experiment according to the disciplines developments and the teaching progames. By the experiment trainings, students are expected to enhance their basis theory level and specialty technology level, to improve practical manipulative ability , to develop their technology innovation and scientific research capability. Futhermore, specialty laboratorys offer good circumstances for postgraduation project research and scientific programs. And some Laboratorys are served for the scientifc experiment reserch of some programs such as National Natural Science Foundation and Province Natural Science Foundation.
There are a batch of high-technology and high-accuracy equipments in Electric Power Experiment Center such as Hypersim power-system real-time simulation system, 300MW subcritical power plant simulation system, motor experiment system, power electronic experiment system, power system dynamic simulation system, 250kV basic-frequency high-voltage testing system, 600kV lightning striking testing system, high-resolution ICCD spectrum analysis system on air discharging, power quality harmonics analyzer,motor testing platfrom, torque and rotation rate tester,noise vibration analyzer, AC source analyzer, electronics load and module, stack-type thermometer, mercury analyzer, three-dimensional heat anemometer and infrared thermal tmager. Among the aforementioned equipments, high-resolution ICCD spectrum analysis system on gas discharge and tnfrared thermal tmager are large-scale and delicate equipments.
The ICCD spectrum analysis system typed PIMAX2 is produced by PI Corporation USA. Its technical function indices cover spectrum measured wavelength ranging from 200nm to 900nm and ICCD explosure time 2ns,1024x1024 pels,5MHz conversionrate,16bit,delay time<25ns,softwareprogrammmable. The systems is mainly used in measuring radiating spectrum and radiating regional distribution at the moment of discharging by high-voltage discharge,such as surface discharge,corona discharge,local discharge and glow discharge. To study the high-voltage discharging characteristics by spectrum analyses from discharging experiments,the system is today the sole mean in atmospheric pressure discharing diagnosis. The instrument is now installed in high-voltage laboratory for experiment researches of measuring varied kinds of high-voltage discharge.
The infrared thermal imager typed PM595 is produced by AGM Corporation USA. Its technical function indices cover temperature ranging from -40℃ to 2000℃ ,accuracy 0.1℃, emissivity correction that can be conveninetly set ,multiple-spot displays for temperature and emission rate,displays for max/min/average temperature and equal-temperature display. The main functions of the instrument is to measure point temperatures,line temperatures and surface temperatures ranging from -40℃ to +2000℃ by the mean of infrared non-touched measurements,and to analysize pictures of heat radiations by computer data processing. The technology of infrared measurement is widely used in energy saving,power system,construction engineering,electronics,automobile, metallurgy, petrifaction,medicine, security and many other fields. The instrument is now installed in thermodynamics laboratory for experiment researches such as measuring boiler temperatures and to be used in heat-transfer application .
