Objectives
This program aims to cultivate high-level scientific and technological professionals who are proficient in both foreign languages and computer skills and all-round developed morally, intellectually and physically; who are equipped with a solid theoretical foundation and profound specialized knowledge of the field and who are able to undertake the work of engineering technology development and scientific researches in the field of power electronics and power drives.

Cultivation Mode
Advisory system is applied in the program. Students are required to draw up a working plan under the instruction of supervisors in the first two weeks after registration and complete all the required credits within the first year of study. Students are bound to participate in the stage assessment in the third semester according toMaster Degree Candidate Medium-Term Screening Method of South China University of Technology and complete social practices before the end of the third semester. Regular seminar reports are required.
Dissertation
Students should draw up a thesis writing plan and start preparing thesis proposals between the 11th and 18th weeks in the third semester. Before applying for the thesis defense, students are required to publish at least one research-oriented academic paper with South China University of Technology signed as the first unit, the student signed as the first author or the supervisor signed as the first author whereas the student the second. Thesis defense will be arranged according toRules for the Implementation of Graduation Degrees of South China University of Technology and Regulations of the Applications for Thesis Defense of South China University of Technology on the completion of theses.
