Associate Professor Jia of Cornell University Gave an academic report in SEC

On the morning of December 13, Associate Professor Jia Panle, employed in the Department of Economics, Cornell University, was invited to give an academic report named China’s Industrial Policy: An Empirical Evaluation. The forum was held by Sun Jianqiang, the deputy president of SEC.

First of all, Associate Professor Jia introduced the information of the China Center for Economic Research (CCER) at Cornell University, then combined research methods of modern economics with Chinese affairs. She demonstrated the research plans, data, and necessary conclusions of four topics: Chinese environment policy, infrastructure, international relations, and industrial policy. Notably, the research team calculated changes in social welfare brought by the foundation support based on the structure of China's high-speed rail network.

In the end, Associate Professor Jia shared experience of publication of international journals, and advertised summer camp of CCER in the Cornell University. After the forum, she discussed with teachers and students about Chinese economics, and all of them were inspired.
