In recent, the international major event of big data analysis -- ISI - WORLD CUP 2019 announced the results. SEC Students, a team made up of Liu Zicheng, Yuan Haoxuan and Xu Cuixin, students from SCUT-HSBC FinTech Talent Program in SEC, won the seventh place and the Award of Merit. They performed exceptionally and stood out from HEI teams from the Peking University, Tsinghua University, Fudan University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, as well as enterprise teams from Huawei, Alibaba and Tencent. Three team members have also been invited to attend IEEE ISI International Conference in July 2019. In addition, they also have received invitations for summer camp internship from the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), gaining opportunities to exchange with Chinese top experts in AI and big data.
Other students in the Program also performed excellently in this competition and all got good rankings. This achievement features one of the teaching results from SCUT-HSBC FinTech Talent Program, facilitating outstanding SCUT students to contact more with the world's top 500 companies. Seven advanced classes in the Program are lectured by the Chief Architect, Chief Consultant and other experts and scholars from HSBC Technology China. All students in the Program will go to HSBC Technology China for a half-year internship when the end of courses, and whether students continue to stay is decided by both sides when internship is over.
The Program has launched International Virtual Class and One Match for One Core Curriculum for talent training. And students in the Program take their spare time to have online classes of famous universities overseas on Coursera, and positively participate in national and international competitions in big data and block chain. They have made great progress in the past year and win plaudits from HSBC Technology China.
