On Jun. 16, seminar on Guangzhou Construction of Global Technology Innovation Resources Disposition Center was held in SCUT, which was co-organized by Guangzhou Social Science Association, Guangzhou National Innovation-oriented City Development Research Center and The School of Economics and Commerce jointly, focusing on the theme of how to build up global technology resources disposition center. More than 100 experts from SCUT, Sun Yet-sen University and Guangzhou Policy Research Institutes attended the seminar.

Qiu Xueqing, Vice-president of SCUT, expressed warmed welcome to the honorable guests and experts. He introduced SCUT’s rapid development in recent years. He pointed out that, SCUT went hand in hand with Guangzhou, and she witness and supported Guangzhou’s rapid development. He also hoped that SCUT could have the opportunity to deeply engage in the national economic development by expanding the philosophy and social science discipline development.

Tan Xiaohong, Vice-president of Guangzhou Social Science Association, stated that the aim of the seminar was to make suggestion for Guangzhou’s development by discussing the strategies and paths to accelerate the construction of Guangzhou Global Technology Resources Disposition Center and setting up a communication platform for educational circle and government.

Five experts from Chinese Academy of Social Science, Shanghai Jiaotong University and China Macro-economy Research Institute, etc., made keynote speeches. In the interactive section, Professor Xu Feng, from SEC, proposed questions on the venture investment in Guangzhou: there is a gap among Guangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing when the venture capital is mentioned-- what is the reason for that? Is there any possibility for Guangzhou to surpass the two cities? Hu Junyan, associate professor of SEC, asked that is there any better model for Guangzhou.
