Multiple arrangements of cooperation in student training were made  between SCUT and a few Hong Kong universities when a delegation led by Vice  President Zhu Min travelled to Hong Kong during May 16 to 18.

At Lingnan University (LU), an agreement was signed to promote enhancements  in different stages of student learning. These efforts will include visiting  programs for high-performance undergraduates, dual-degree master’s programs, and  PhD student exchange programs. In addition, the two universities shared ideas on  offering the SCUT-LU-Oxford University summer courses to students.

During the visit to the City University of Hong Kong (CUHK), SCUT’s  delegates and their partners at CUHK reviewed the ongoing dual-degree PhD  programs, and then reached a consensus on deepening the current cooperation.  They were set to work together to develop Master’s-PhD combined programs in the  future.

Then at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), its  leadership showed a keen interest in building the faculty of microelectronics  through mutual efforts with SCUT. The two sides also discussed a number of  cooperating issues, including carrying out dual-degree PhD programs in material  science and chemical engineering, “3+1” Bachelor’s-Master’s combined programs in  humanities and social sciences, as well as joint training programs at SCUT for  Hong Kong students.

Among the delegation included heads of SCUT’s Graduate School, the Office  for Hong Kong, Macau & Taiwan Affairs, and the School of Public  Administration.
