The theme of the conference was Innovation and Development of Service Trade.

Mr. HUANG Hai, the chairman of the China Service Trade Committee, emphasized that the global service demand had been cut and reduced recently and almost every country took the development of the service trade as the driving force in the post-industrial era. Mr. ZHAO Hai, the deputy mayor of Foshan, pointed out that Foshan was in a historical turning point to upgrade manufacturing industry, which would bring enormous opportunities to this city. He indicated that in the Thirteenth Five-Year Plan of the Foshan Service Trade Industry Development, the city would focus on the service of finance, technology, industrial design, culture and traditional Chinese medicine and push the acceleration of the service trade development.

SCUT Modern Service Institute was the sole co-organizer of the annual conference as University and institute representative and was reappointed as standing director of the committee. Professor WU Yechun, assistant to the president of SCUT and party secretary of SEC, was selected as the vice-chairman of CSTC and hosted the opening ceremony of the forum.
