On November 28, the 1st Sino-Foreign Exhibition Forum was unveiled in university town campus, organized by School of Economics and Commerce. The shared and common mission of the forum was to promote “One belt, One Road” strategy and build a novel future for exhibition industry. Professor YU Qijun, vice-president of SCUT, Mr. YUAN Zaiqing, president of China Exhibition Economics Research Association and Mr. LI Xiahui, chairman of Exhibition League of Pan-Pearl River Delta, along with more than 300 attenders from different cities, universities and exhibition enterprises took part in the forum.
YU Qijun delivered a warm welcome speech on behalf of SCUT, emphasizing that exhibition industry was a new field and it needed a leading platform to conducting transboundary cooperation. He mentioned that 1st Sino-Foreign Exhibition Forum broke the traditional cooperation model to seek a win-win mutual benefit. And he also hoped that SEC, especially exhibition and convention management department could play an active role to promote the development of exhibition industry.
Mr. LI Xiahui declared the opening of the forum. In his opening address, he expressed the hope that the Sino-Foreign Exhibition Forum could be forged into the Davos in the field of exhibition and convention. Mr. YUAN Zaiqing, Mr. GUO Weihua, vice-president of China Foreign Trade Center, Mr. JI Lude, secretary-general of Shanghai Exhibition and Convention Industry Association, and Mr. YE Yunzhen, general manager of Guangzhou Bowen Exhibition and Convention Co. Limited, made keynote speeches respectively on the development of exhibition and convention industry in the future.
In the sub-forums of industry-upgrading and education research innovation, representatives from different organization, universities and institutes shared opinions from various aspects.
In the closing ceremony, Professor WU Yechun, assistant to the president of SCUT, expressed his gratitude to all the attenders on behalf of SCUT, and hoped that different sectors of the society could work together to promote the development of exhibition and convention industry.
