The General Office of the Ministry of Education issued a notice on the list of national and provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites in 2020. The Sports Training major of South China University of Technology has been selected as one of 3977 national first-class undergraduate majors approved by the Ministry of Education after rigid examination, review, and evaluation by the Higher Education Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education. 

   The sports training major began to recruit students from 2007, committed to cultivate  creative and practical sports professionals with all-round development of morality, intelligence and physique who have good sports literacy and spirit, master the basic theories and methods of sports training, teaching and competition, achieve high level of athletic skills, and competent for all relevant jobs in the sports area.
