Prof. Song has successfully conducted 3 provincial projects, and participated in a great number of Natural Social Science Fund projects and teaching reformation projects. He has over 30 papers published in academic journals such as China Sports Science and Technology. He is also an editor in chief of one textbook and subeditor of another textbook. He serves as a Chair Professor of professional sports teaching team in Sports Institute, and he also is responsible for the school excellent courses and is a lecturer of provincial excellent courses.

Many of his students came out champions, runner-ups and second runner-ups in nationwide or provincial table tennis competitions. He was awarded “Guangdong Outstanding Teacher” and “Outstanding Teacher” of SCUT, and he has also obtained the title of “My Favorite Mentor”.
