Prof. Liu has conducted more than 30 scientific research and teaching reformation projects including State Social Science Fund Project, and published over 40 papers in academic journals such as Sports & Science. Thus, he received 5 awards including a second-class award for science and technology progress and a second-class prize for provincial excellent teaching achievements.

Prof. Liu is editor-in-chief and co-compiler of 10 books or textbooks such as University Sports, Advanced Course-book of Track and Field Sports and History of China’s Track and Field Sports.

Currently, he is associate editor of the Journal Physical Education, executive director of Guangdong Society of Stamina, vice president of Guangdong Fitness-Keeping Association and vice chairman of Guangdong Students Sports League. He was conferred honors of national outstanding teacher, national outstanding sports referee and outstanding teacher at South China University of Technology.
